Amok

Amok is a popular Cambodian dish that every person is bound to try when they visit this country. It consists of fish (or chicken), peanuts, lime leaves, chilli, coconut milk, lemongrass and eggs and is served with rice.
As with most Asian countries, the staple food of Cambodia is rice.
I find the lemongrass taste a little overpowering and the coconut makes it very rich. It is quite an interesting dish! It also makes me wonder why Cambodian people are not fat...

I want to write an article about why Malaysians drive like bitches.

Seriously.

I can picture the interview now.

‎"So why do you drive like a bitch?"

"Is it because the thought of being a societal anchovy depresses you and you feel you need to take it out on the road?"

These are the only questions I have to come up with because at this point I would have to either

a) run away OR
b) pepper spray my interviewee

But seriously, why do they drive like bitches?

Bamboo sticky rice in Cambodia

On our way back to Siem Reap from Phnom Penh, we saw many stalls selling bamboo sticky rice and decided to stop and try some because we're Asian and we won't get food poisoning =P .
You peel the bamboo bit by bit to reveal the sticky rice.
I think it is made up of sticky rice, red beans, coconut milk and sugar and is smoked in a bamboo shoot.
Cambodians have a lot of coconut milk in their food but for some reason there are no fat people there =P
Because it is pressed into a bamboo shoot, it becomes very compact, making it stick together like a cake.
It's not too sweet and fills the tummy really quickly. Yummm.. I think I could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner =D
We have a similar dish in my hometown but it is mostly on available on the way up to Mount Kinabalu. You should definitely try it! =)
