Note to self

This is a reminder to myself not to make the same mistakes again. I have everything, a beautiful, loving family, an adoring boyfriend who is also my best friend, awesome friends all over the world, I am tall and good looking, I am well-traveled, I am studying something that I love, I have a pretty platinum CC at my disposal thanks to mummy dearest and I am still not a spoilt brat (I still earn my own money), but most of all, I am LOVED. I will not make the same mistakes again. Who cares about what other people think or do? If you don't like me, then go away la.

Christchurch Part 5

John and I headed to Backstage Bakery in the Art Centre for breakfast. Felt like something savoury so I ordered the roasted portobello mushroom with thyme and provolone cheese on sourdough toast. John's was craving something sweet, so he ordered the brioche french toast with bananas and bacon. I thought it was quite interesting because they sprinkled some coconut on top, giving it a more interesting taste than the usual.
Both dishes were delicious, but I couldn't say the same for their coffee.
I really liked the Christchurch Art Centre. It used to be the University of Canterbury but they moved away and was replaced by this. I have to say, I am a sucker for historical buildings and gothic architecture. There's just something really unique and mesmerizing about them (Maybe I just wish I studied in Hogwarts or something.. but..), and I love all the effort that is taken to conserve them over in New Zealand.
The Great Hall. Beautiful right?
You can still see remnants of its use as a university.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Arts Centre, it felt like I was being brought back in time, There was a food fair going on at that time, but we were too stuffed to try anything.. Oh well, maybe next time =)

My weekly 2.5 hour workout involves this. I'm hoping one day I will be this awesome. *pause* Okay, that's wishful thinking =P

Pain

Bear with me while I nurse my horrid hangover. Last night's "one drink with the girls" turned into shisha and half a bottle of vodka and running all around town and stuffing our faces with velvet burger and then plopping on the bed without removing my makeup. You can imagine how I feel right now, right? RIGHT? I'm wondering if the fun was worth this feeling. *_* Goodbye, I shall sign off with more of my culinary experiments.
Peanut butter cookies that Sam called orgasmic. =)

I can cook damnit.

I am so bored. For dinner I made Cantonese cheese-baked rice with pork and then proceeded to bake a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting
resulting in a very happy boyfriend. I've also been stalking everyone on FB, but looking at ugly people's photos is such a turn off. I also tried to play this CSI game, which sucked monkey's balls. What can I do to stop this boredom??

Christchurch Part 4

We had dinner at Valentino's on a Saturday night. We walked in without a booking and were seated immediately although it was pretty busy.
Mark, John and I ordered one starter and two pizzas to share. For starters we had the garlic prawns sauteed with garlic, tomato and white wine, served with ciabatta bread. I really liked the prawns, it was tangy and the lime taste was very distinct, which took away its 'fishy' taste. Didn't think too much of the bread though.

The pizzas were a bit too thin and hard to cut. But that was compensated by the fact that they were so big that they were bigger than all our faces combined!

I would recommend the Porchetta. The marinated pork was really succulent and together with the cheese, lime, capsicums and tomatoes, it was a perfect combination! Yum... John said the chef must be a guy because the ingredients were scattered messily (and very liberally too, might I add).

All this cost about $60 and we were so stuffed that we almost had to roll home (Nice mental image huh?) It is a good place to go and hang out with your friends, good pizza in a relaxed atmosphere with nice staff. We really enjoyed our experience. =)

Wow.. Calista told me that someone is ilegally using my pictures (of myself) for advertising... Do I sue now? Lol.
